About SA’s Got Talent
The SA’s Got Talent(also known as South Africa’s Got Talent or shorten to SAGT) is a South African television show on e.tv as part of the Got Talent series.
The project was created by Mo Mahlangu, popularly knows as Tol Ass Mo.
Performers, dancers comedians, variety shows, and other performers compete with each other for support from the audience.
Winners of every contest receive R500,000.
The initial series of this talent competition started at the beginning of October 20022 and was broadcast every week with a live semi-final and the final on the 12th of November, 2022.
The auditions are held in front of a panel of judges and an audience in a different town in South Africa.
Any time during the audition, the judges could express disapproval towards the performance by pressing a button that illuminates and then lights the red X next to them. If all judges are able to press their buzzers, the show will end immediately.
To be able to advance to the next round, the participants must get at least two affirmative votes, or else they’d be removed from the stage.
Following an audition, auditions they will have to reduce the number of effective acts down to 21.
The performers are contacted to find out whether they made it through to the semi-finals.
All the other acts play in a variety of semi-finals that live and the two acts with the highest popularity from each semi-final winning an opportunity to compete at the end of the competition.
In contrast to that of the American model, the judges can be able to end a performance earlier by giving three Xs at the finals. As with those in the American version, judges can’t announce an act until after the semifinals.
Judges are invited to share their opinions about the performance of each act.
Once all the acts have taken place phones are opened for a brief period.
After the vote has been counted The act that won the most public votes will be included in the final count.
The judges will then select the third and second most popular performers The winner getting a spot in the final. All other acts are taken out of the competition.
In Season 6 onwards, Golden buzzer introduced that, if pressed, could send the contestant straight into the semifinals.
The first contestant who receives the golden buzzer is Henno William. He sang the song “Let it be” on the third episode of season 6.
